Let’s talk Race Reviews (& Ice Cream!)

If you were to ask anyone who knows me to name something they know I love, you’d likely receive a handful of similar answers. Some things that would be at the top of this include: the great outdoors, Wonder Woman and my Jack Russell Terrier (#NoraTheExplorer).

Ice cream would be another high ranking answer.

Come to think of it, I probably like ice cream a little more than I should.

Great…

…now I want ice cream.

Anyway… my point is, anyone who knows me at all knows:

I. Love. Running.

So, given my love of running, racing and writing, it’s only natural that I’ve finally gotten around to creating my very own blog that focuses on just that!

As far as I know, there isn’t an actual local runner who shares their experiences in this format. Sure, we stand around for an hour after running and talk about our last race, our next race, that AWESOME race we did 3 years ago… so naturally I thought it would be useful to have all this in one neat and tidy place: the RUNablog!

I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I feel I’ve concocted a fairly concise rating system that covers everything I personally would want to know before clicking that “Register Now” button.

Races will be graded on the following 5-Point “RACEable” Scale:

  1. Price
  2. T-Shirt/Swag
  3. Expo Quality
  4. Medal
  5. Volunteers
  6. Course Scenery
  7. Aid Stations
  8. Parking/Access
  9. Race Management
  10. Overall

If you’re curious about a race, check the RUNablog “Race Reviews” section to find out how it measured up on the RACEable scale. 🙂

When viewing the calendar, be sure to look for these icons in the race details! They signify RUNable Recommended Races (#RACEable) & races that I’ll be attended, so you can come out and race with me! (Be sure to find me and say hi!)
